Chiropractic care involves the diagnosis and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal conditions, primarily focusing on spinal health, but also includes upper and lower extremities. Through manual adjustments and other conservative techniques, chiropractors help stimulate the nervous system, align the body, relieve pain, and enhance overall well-being.

Chiropractic care is effective for a variety of conditions, including back pain, neck pain, headaches, joint issues, and posture-related discomforts. It can also aid in the recovery process from certain injuries.

Other common conditions treated at MSK ProHealth are Sciatica, muscle strains/sprains, Whiplash, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, rotator cuff injuries, plantar fasciitis, IT band syndrome, piriformis syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, pronator teres syndrome, and other similar ailments.

Chiropractic care is widely recognized as a very safe, non-invasive approach to managing pain and improving mobility, when performed by a licensed and experienced chiropractor.

The ideal frequency varies per individual. Some may need a few sessions, while others benefit from regular visits. At MSK ProHealth we assess each client’s needs to recommend a personalized treatment plan for you.

Your first visit typically involves a health consultation, examination, and likely your adjustment (unless urgent imaging is needed prior to treatment). The goal is to understand your health needs and start a tailored treatment plan.

Cryotherapy involves exposing the body to extremely cold temperatures (-200*F) for a short period (3 minutes). It’s known to reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and enhance recovery. Other benefits include better sleep, calorie burning, natural energy booster, tighter skin, mental clarity, detox of the body.

While cryotherapy is safe for many, it’s not recommended for individuals with certain health conditions. We conduct a thorough assessment to ensure it’s safe for you.

Cryotherapy offers a more intense and efficient cold exposure, potentially leading to quicker and more significant benefits than traditional ice packs.

Assisted Stretching

Assisted stretching involves a trained professional helping you stretch to improve flexibility, range of motion, and overall mobility, often achieving deeper stretches than on your own.

Anyone looking to improve flexibility, reduce muscle tension, or enhance athletic performance can benefit from assisted stretching, regardless of age or fitness level.

Assisted stretching is generally safe when performed by a trained professional. We tailor stretches to your comfort level and physical capabilities.

Dry Needling

Dry needling involves inserting thin needles into muscle knots/trigger points, restricted tissues, or injuries. Unlike acupuncture, which focuses on energy channels, dry needling targets specific muscle issues to relieve pain and improve function.

Yes, dry needling can be effective in managing chronic pain by releasing muscle tension, improving mobility, stimulating neurological feedback, and drawing blood/nutrients to areas for healing.

The duration varies, but many experience immediate relief. Continued sessions may provide longer-lasting benefits.

Yes, chiropractic care can be effective in treating certain types of headaches, particularly those related to neck tension and spinal misalignment.

Some people might experience mild soreness post-treatment, similar to the feeling after a workout. This is typically temporary and a normal part of the healing process. But most people feel great immediately following a chiropractic adjustment.

Beyond pain relief, chiropractic care helps in improving posture, increasing mobility, and supporting the body’s natural healing processes, contributing to overall health and wellness.

Absolutely. Chiropractic care is adaptable to all ages and stages of life, including during pregnancy. We customize our approach to suit individual needs.

Chiropractors are licensed professionals with extensive training in neuromusculoskeletal health, ensuring the highest standard of care for our clients. Most chiropractors will hold one or two bachelor’s degrees ranging in Anatomy, Health & Wellness, Kinesiology, or other science degree, including a doctorate level degree in Chiropractic. Chiropractors are required to pass 4-part national board exams, including individual state exams to practice in any state in the US. Annual continued education hours are required for license renewals for chiropractors. Many chiropractors get additional training on techniques to further specialize in care for their patients.

We recommend an in-person consultation and evaluation with our chiropractor which can help determine if chiropractic care will meet your health needs. We consider your entire health history to make informed recommendations for a proper plan of care.
